
Policymaking in Turbulent Times
In its second edition after the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bucerius Summer School gave participants a forum to discuss policymaking while also navigating the consequences of increasing global crises.
Highlights
During the 2023 edition, Bucerius Summer School participants travelled to the Chancellery in Berlin for high-level discussions and meetings, for example with Wolfgang Schmidt, then Federal Minister for Special Affairs and Head of the Chancellery. Further visits and conversations led candidates to the Office of the Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. Among the cultural highlights of the year’s program was the dinner event “Let’s Talk Food!”, featuring celebrity chef Suvir Saran and chef partner and consultant Vardaan Marwah. Hosted in Hamburg, the evening focused on the socio-political dimensions of Indian cuisine.
